Education: At least Master’s degree in a technical subject such as computing, mathematics, statistics, electronics or physics. Certification for Korean or English skills or teaching skills in those languages would be preferred.
Profile: Clear communicator. Passion for new technologies.
Professional Experience: Preferably, previous experience in working with research laboratories, however this is not a requirement. Previous experience as an interpreter would also be preferred but again it is not a requirement.
Required Competencies: Excellent spoken English and spoken Korean, particularly on technical subjects.
We are looking for an interpreter to work day-to-day with multiple research and development teams based at NAVER LABS Europe, as they interact via phone, video conference and sometimes email, with their counterparts in Seongnam. The interpreter must be highly-fluent in Korean and English, as well as having sufficient technical knowledge and interest to communicate on subjects such as deep learning, computer vision, search engines, mapping technologies and augmented reality.
Depending on the candidate’s interest and capabilities, there is the possible extension of this role to include:
- Helping NLP (Natural Language Processing) people with Korean language
- Korean teaching to members of these research and development teams.
