Jean-Pierre Chanod is Principal Scientist and Area Manager of the Parsing and Semantics area. He joined in 1993 and was previously area manager for Enterprise Architecture research.
His main research interests range from document processing and natural language processing to semantics and process modeling.
Jean-Pierre has been involved in a number of international research collaborations in Europe and Asia. He contributed to French national projects and EU-funded projects such as TwentyOne, Elsnet, Elsnet-Goes-East, STEEL, integrated projects in the domain of semantics and digital preservation like VIKEF, SHAMAN, PERICLES or MOBiNET in the domain of Intelligent Transportation Services.
Prior to that, Jean-Pierre Chanod was project leader at the IBM Paris scientific centre. Jean-Pierre graduated from Ecole Normale Supérieure (mathematics) in 1980.
