Healthcare as a service: reflections, examples, suggestions
Speaker: Giorgio de Michelis, professor at Universita di Milano Bicocca, Milan
Abstract: Healthcare is a complex, costly and delicate service, since it aims at curing customers/beneficiaries/users of their diseases while letting them feel well and assisted. Forgetting any component of the healthcare service chain provokes some distortions, as witnessed by the growing presence of social self-care initiatives on the web. We have developed a platform for open social services, itsociety, that can have an effective application in the Healthcare Sector, but requires a strategic re-orientation of its personnel and management. Some suggestions on how this can be done conclude the talk.
